The following morning the alarm goes off and what the results are? Snooze button. Often we let ourselves down. We keep our business appointments, our doctor appointments and also a million other commitments all day long. And yet, on the subject of keeping promises to ourselves, we are willing to sacrifice ourselves, so we think of all sorts of excuses to justify it.

It happened in my experience earlier from the week.

I awakened which has a headache and cranky from a poor night's sleep. I obtained out of bed, plopped myself about the sofa and begun to talk myself out of my sunrise meditation practice. "No, I'm choosing to avoid it. I'm too tired. I had created a poor night's sleep. I won't have the capacity to concentrate. All I have to do is use a ballewick and lay within the sofa in peace." So here's strangely: When we let ourselves down there is a little voice that whispers, "You failed." This sets a damaging tone for each single thing that follows. "I'm a failure" shrouds the events of waking time. It's just like an insidious little worm, "I am a failure" attaching itself without conscious understanding its genesis.

under armour sports bra The fantastic news is usually that the converse is also true. Keeping promises we make to ourselves sets us up for achievement. "Yes, I can" becomes the root mantra. Every action becomes easier every task takes less effort. And when a setback does happen, it can be less difficult to rebound. "Yes, I will" becomes the unconscious mantra underlying continued positive action. Either way, every single day we build a positive or negative ripple effect that follows us each day. And you know what is... this really is one region where you have total control. Only you overcome your actions. The decision is entirely yours... do or avoid. It's in your hands.

That morning as I sat on my sofa I believed the true wake-up call, "Whaaaa? You'll break your appointment on your own? Head outdoors around the deck at this time and meditate - even when it's only for ten minutes. And stretch - even if it's only for ten mins. Do it." Within 30 minutes my headache was gone, my mood lifted, i enjoyed my tea thinking, "This can be a prime illustration of why keeping promises to ourselves and honoring our commitments is so important."

So almost every time you set about for making excuses think to yourself, "No! I choose me. I choose to line myself up for fulfillment. I choose an optimistic ripple effect."
